Today I went on a field trip with the high school honors spanish students to visit the Pajaro Valley Arts Council Dia de Los Muertos display.

Walking through the neighborhood we found beautiful murals. Here’s the kids at one of them.

Shopping with the students, visiting the butcher department, El Carnicero.IMG_1586_web

The butcher showed us a pig’s head, used to make Mexican hominy.

There were some great produce specialties.

We stopped for lunch in the taqueria. I had a veggie sope, with guacamole, lettuce, mexican cheese, sour cream and a delicious green sauce served on a thick, corn “tortilla” made with masa harina.
